12 Days of Christmas: Decking the hall

This year we literally decked our halls.  Well, just one hall.  The hall we made over last winter!

While I adorned the stairway with some faux greenery and poinsettia, I took a simple approach to holiday-ing up the shelves.

I’m pleased to report that my choices for shelf styling has really stood the test of time a year, as I’ve been able to keep the same decor in place, just adding a seasonal touch when appropriate…like a little pumpkin in the fall, or these ornaments for Christmas.

The existing bottles/vases were the perfect stands for some red glittery baubles…

And a little silver mixed in with the natural elements adds just a little shine.

I have to admit, the holiday touches add just the refresher I need for my standard shelves!  How about you…did you literally deck one of your halls this season?

Psst…I’m getting into the holiday spirit by writing 12 holiday themed posts leading up to Christmas.  In case you missed it, here are the other posts: Day 1: Felt Ornaments; Day 2: Holiday Door Swag; Day 3: Coconut Snowball Cookies; Day 4: Our Christmas Tree; Day 5: Our entryway; Day 6: Christmas traditions; Day 7: Walnut Brown Sugar Rugelach

It looks so festive! I don’t even have all of my decorations up yet. Yikes! My goal next year is to decorate more than just the mantle. :)

Looks great! I love the poinsettias in your garland. I have two shades of red berries in mine. I like poinsettias but haven’t been able to find any fake that don’t look too fake. I really like the small scale of yours.
