In real life

When I started this blog more than two years ago, I never imagined that making new friends would be one of the benefits.  As it turns out, I’ve made many, many blog friends—people I connect with by commenting on their blogs and following along with the stories they share.  Some of those friends have even risen to the level of Facebook friends (they actually know my last name!).  And now I can say that I’ve actually met a blog friend—Laura from JourneyChic.

Laura recently visited Bar Harbor, Maine, and she actually wanted to meet up while she was here (that means I’ve succeeded at not becoming a weird, creepy blog stalker!).  I had a blast meeting her and hanging out with her little guy and the mysterious Mr. JC who, like my husband, never really appears on the blog.

My favorite thing about meeting Laura is that no warm up was needed.  We’ve been following each other’s blogs for more than two years, so we know pretty much all the basics.  We were easily able to just jump into chatter about life, work, blogging and little-boy-rearing.  And Laura’s voice sounded EXACTLY as I imagined it would from her blog.  As Laura described it, we’ve basically been pen-pals, and it was so fun to put a real face and voice to the words on the screen.  Now if only she lived closer so she could give me regular fashion tips!

I have to admit that I was nervous to meet a blog friend in real life, but now I can’t wait to have more meet ups.  There is a whole list of ladies that I would like to meet!

Happy weekend!

Fun! I’ve been lucky enough to meet two blogger friends…and it is so odd! I mean it is great to really meet them but it is strange to know so much about them but never have heard their voice. And I for one feel some stage fright or performance anxiety- like will I live up? what if I make a fool of myself, etc

Yay! I wish Jack and I had been there! He would have rounded out the Triumvirate of Cuteness! Someday, ladies!
