Hello, my name is…
I know I am taking a major risk here. I’m already fairly certain that no one will respond. But, since I know that my number of subscribers has doubled since the end of December, I know you are out there, and I would love for you to say hello!
Let me encourage you by going first. This is me and my main man Ike on a very snowy Friday morning in all of our unshowered, yoga-pant-and-hoodie maternity leave glory (if you listen closely, The Nate Berkus Show is on in the background). As you can see, I’ve already trained Ike to look at the camera, but the whole mirror thing confused him. We’re working on it. Oh, and don’t mind the light fixture extending from my head…it really adds something, right?
So, now that I’ve put myself out there and bribed you with a picture of my baby, won’t you leave a comment and say hello? If you’re a new follower, let me know how you came to stumble upon this special little place and feel free to tell me a bit about yourself so that I can feel like we are friends. If I get less than 50 comments, Ike will cry and I will have to drive around at midnight again to calm him. You don’t want that on your shoulders, right!?
And, if you are one of those 10 people who have been following all along, thank you for always being there and commenting…you make my day!

i follow you in google reader
you are adorable! and i could just nibble ike’s little cheeks. what a doll!

Sure, I’ll play along! Hello from Portland, Maine! I found you via John & Sherry’s BabyCenter blog (don’t you just love them?) when they featured your gorgeous nursery. Love the gray.

I also found your blog through YHL
I am a 27 year old Mama to 4 little boys… Yours is adorable – I just love (and miss) that fresh baby stage!!
PS) I love the light fixture extending from your head. You’re werking it

Hi there! I’m a new reader, although I can’t remember how I stumbled across you (a picture of your nursery was somewhere, maybe, and I clicked on it?) Anyway, love your blog and your baby is adorable!

Hi, Erin! I’m one of those new followers. I think I found you through Young House Love? I’m not sure. Regardless, you started popping up on my Google Reader recently!
My name’s Misty. I’m 27 (turning 28 on Thursday!), married and expecting a baby boy in March.

I’ve been following you for a few months and absolutely adore your site.
My husband and I are expecting our first child, a baby girl, in a few weeks, and I have re-read your Nursery/Baby posts several times!
Keep up all the posting, we are still reading – no matter what the content subject

Hi Diane from Pennsylvania! I found your blog from another blog (although at the moment I cannot remember which one). I too have a little boy, and I think your nursery design was amazing!!!
[Reply]
i’ve been following along for quite a while…i don’t know how or when, but it was definitely before nursery. i know i’ve commented a few times…i feel one should when one sees something and likes it. it is disconcerting to see a follower number, but then have only a few comments, or even have a lot of comments, but hardly any of them from actual followers. blogging is a strange thing, at least to me!
[Reply]
I have been following you in my google reader for a while now. I don’t remember exactly how I found you, probably a link up party. Congrats on the new addition, very cute

Hi – I found your website through YoungHouseLove when they showed off your fabulous nursery. Ever since then I pop in from time to time to see how things are going and if there are any new crafty/house projects happening.
My husband and I bought a fixer-upper almost two years ago and are diligently working on it! It’s taken two years to have it start to look like our forever home… We have about twenty more years to go until it’s perfect
We are hoping to start the baby train within the year and I am looking for inspiration when redooing the ‘to be’ nursery one day.
Thanks for the cute little guy’s picture – congrats and he’s adorable!!

Hi! I’m Jess. I blog very infrequently but I love to kill time during the day by reading lots of blogs. I’ve been here longer than December, but probably not one of the original 10. I love reading about decorating, home improvements, cooking, and follow many baby blogs even though I don’t have one of my own (yet!).
Happy Friday!!
[Reply]
Hello. I know I found your blog through a blogroll somewhere, but I haven’t the slightest which one. It seems the snow has just about stopped here in Southern NH, so maybe your afternoon will clear up too.
[Reply]
Hi! I follow you in Google Reader too. We actually work for the same place, though I don’t think I’ve met you IRL, but I found your blog by mention of another coworker a couple months ago. Hopefully that doesn’t freak you out.

Hi from Oregon! I don’t remember where I saw it first, but your nursery reeled me in with every detail. Since then, your blog has found a permanent home in my google reader. Love your blog, keep up the good work! And you’re far braver than I for posting a pre-shower picture! Have a great weekend!
[Reply]
Hi there! I also found your blog through the BabyCenter post about your nursery. I’m expecting our first child – a boy! – in May and I LOVE all the DIY projects in your nursery. We’re not huge DIY people, but I do sew and I totally plan to copy those book slings and sew my own crib skirt, too! Congrats on your precious baby boy!
[Reply]
I follow on Google Reader, Facebook, I have you bookmarked on my Google Chrome Bar and I check in periodically… It’s not stalking… you can just consider me a super fan of your witty posts and decorating abilities.
Every evening after work I spend about an hour or so blog hopping, and I think I may have come across your blog sometime in 2010 from Centsational Girl or Thrifty Decor Chicks. Possibly one of the parties…
[Reply]
Hi there! I’m a new follower, who, like many others it seems, found you via John and Sherry’s column on Babycenter. I adored your nursery and just had to come find out more.

Ike is a cutie, too! And I’m impressed at how quickly you’ve trained him to look at the camera!

like a lot of above commenters, i found you through young house love and instantly fell in love with your nursery! we’re expecting kiddo #2 this summer and it gave me some great inspiration for our future nursery. once i found your blog, i was hooked. so glad to have stumbled upon it!

HI, I am a new follower. I was googling how to paint your cabinets white and was directed to your website/blog. They look great by the way. I am a mom to a 3 month boy. We have something in common! He is trouble I tell you. With a name like Calvin we are sure to get into trouble. WE are stuck inside on this snowy day, as we live in NY in the Adirondacks. We get feet apon feet here. By the way I am stealing your mobile idea and making it to fit the decor in my sons room (birds and trees). I hand crafted a few stuffed birds and wanted to make a mobile with sticks, but it didn’t work out. I designed his room.
Anyways, I enjoy your crafty ideas. Keep on crafting/decorating. You got a real nack for it.
[Reply]
Erin you look so pretty in this photo and little Ike is so cute looking at the camera. I don’t remember how I found you, but when I saw you had elephants in your nursery I just about died and added you to my reader. Now you’re one of my top 5 favorites, obviously since I think I’ve commented here more lately than I have on any other blogs in 2011 and 2010 combined. xo

Hi Erin! Congrats on the little man!

Hi, my name is… Katie. I found you through John & Sherry’s BabyCenter post about Ike’s nursery and really wanted to see if the rest of your house was as cute as the nursery (it was). I’m in my middle 20s, married to an awesome guy who totally understands my desire to give the entire house a makeover, and (as of yet) childless which isn’t so exciting anymore. I blog infrequently but am addicted to RSS feeds. It will be exciting to see how much things change for your family now that Ike is here. Congratulations!
[Reply]
Hi Erin! As you know I’m a follower form California. Your blog drew me in with your fun, sunny and cheery nursery. Fun post today!

Congratulations Erin! Is Ike’s name Issac? That’s one of my top picks…for someday.
I found your blog through another one I read after the nursery reveal. I love what you did there, and I’ve loved seeing what else you’ve done with your house. Nice to meet you!

Greetings form southern California! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in July so I often search the internet for nursery ideas. Hi! I’m from Tampa, Florida and came upon your blog when John & Sherry (I just write their first names so I can pretend that I know them) wrote about your nursery on Babycenter. I think it’s dreamy and sent it to my friend who is having a baby in March so she can copy it.
I had a baby in September so I commented on your baby must haves list. Congrats! Love your blog so far.

Well…goodness me this worked, didn’t it? I should try this on my blog (that also means I must stop reading other blogs and post on mine as well I guess).
Hi there. My name is Heather. I live on the coast of North Carolina. I’m married and working as an intern architect. I’m about to take my LAST TEST in the whole architecture process. After I pass it, and complete my internship time (only 8 months to go), I can call myself a real, grown-up architect. That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing the past year. A few crafts have been added in the mix.
After the testing is done, I have no idea what’s next (babies, crafts, more work, MUCH more beach time). Only time will tell.
I love your blog. Congrats on your wee one. He is adorable. And I’m completely ok with exploitation of offspring. Isn’t that why you have them anyway?

Hi there!
I get shy about posting a comment on people-I-don’t-know’s blogs so thanks for the invite. My name is Rachel, I live in UT w/ my husband and 3 kids (2 girls, 1 boy). I found your blog via Emily A. Clark posting about your cute nursery. I also really appreciated your tips for planning and executing a holiday meal. My in-laws came up for Christmas and I wasn’t running around like a recently decapitated chicken which seriously cut down my stress. Thanks again!

Hello Erin!
Great blog! I’m a recent subscriber following a link to Ike’s beautiful nursery – YHL I think. Congrats on his arrival! I’m mum of 3 girls in rural Australia, so I love reading blogs and being inspired by clever people from around the world. My youngest is currently snoozing and is 1 in 2 weeks and its seems like yesterday she was as small as Ike….enjoy those cuddles while they cant climb off you and crawl away!

Hi, Erin. I, too, was brought to your blog by your nursery post, which I absolutely adore and have had to share with a few of my mommy-friends. I’m in South Carolina and have a one year old girl. We recently bought a house, which is currently undergoing renovation. So we get to do a nursery again! Thanks for the nursery inspiration. =)

Hello from Florida. I too found your blog through a link on the nursery post. I was especially interested in the dresser because my sister and I grew up with that very same dresser in our bedroom! We also had a tall dresser and a desk to match. That was back in the 70′s! My neice (she’s 26) still has it. I showed her your blog and now we have big ideas for that ole dresser.
The baby is beautiful. congrats!

How does she have time for all of this? She is one great lady and you are one lucky son! Tell Mommy and Daddy hello and let them get some sleep!
Love,
Chris and Gina

I really like your blog, since I’m also into decorating, cooking and all things domestic, plus mom to a cute 2 year old girl and mom-to be to another baby in August. Kee up the great work!

Hi
I am a full time portfolio manager who has a passion for interior design. I cannot remember how I stumbled across your blog but have been hooked since the first read ! I am always amazed by how you and other bloggers find the time to put out a post day after day and be interesting at the same time !!! Love your little one – enjoy every day as they go by quickly. I have 2 girls – 10 yrs and 8 yrs and I look back in amazement at their baby pics and cannot believe how time flies.

Hey Erin! I’ve followed your blog for 6 months maybe?? I think I’ve commented before but I can’t remember! I’m from a suburb of Indianapolis, stay at home mommy of a 2 year old daughter and expecting a baby boy in June! I found your blog somehow through a youtube video of how to fold a fitted sheet (which changed my life). Love your posts and have made your rhubarb cobbler recipe lots of times

Hi Erin! I am Becky, from SE Idaho, and I found your blog via the Baby Center post on your nursery by John and Sherry. I love what you did with the nursery, and it has inspired me to work on my own baby’s room (she is 3 months old, and in our room for now). We moved when I was 8 months pregnant, so I do have an excuse!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Erin & Ike! Congratulations on your new addition, he is ADORABLE! My name is Tracy, and I found your blog back in November while googling Thanksgiving centerpiece ideas. It was my first formal dinner for more than 4 guests. I love your creative ideas and great recipes! I have been following your posts since then, and won (!) your book giveaway during the holidays! I am a fellow Mainer, and a stay-at-home Mom to 2 children, ages 5 & 3. So nice to meet you, and Welcome to Motherhood!!

Hi Erin! I’m pretty sure I found you after YHL featured your nursery…which is amazing by the way! Congratulations on your little one, he is adorable. I’ve been following your blog since, mostly because I connect with a lot of the things you say. It’s fun to see your projects and progress!
So a little bit about myself….well. I’m married, 31 and live in Montana. I’d love to have kiddos someday so it’s super fun to get inspiration and advice from new (and not-so-new) moms!

Hi from Oregon…I have been spending the last couple days looking at home decor blogs trying to come up with some ideas for my house. I think I found you through Frugal with a Flourish. My husband and I are almost empty-nesters with a daughter in college and a son who is married. No grandkids yet. I’m retired from the State of Oregon. I really don’t have a creative bone in my body, but I am good and copying what I see, so I rely on others to give me ideas. I’m definitely going to bookmark your blog.

I am a lurker but I will come out to say hi! I found you just a few weeks ago through I think Shannanigans post about your Delicious looking peanut butter cake which I plan on making this weekend! You had me at peanut butter + chocolate + cake! So just getting to know your blog!

Hi Erin! I obviously don’t read everyday, but better late than never! I don’t get a lot of time to read my favorite blogs in between working, chasing a toddler and being pregnant.
I found you via YHL’s nursery crashing. I actually made the book slings – they are fantastic! Thanks for the idea. So glad i found your blog. You’re little guy is ADORABLE.

Hi! Just started following you this week! Was reading YHL babycenter posts and came across you nursery and immediately added you to my list!
What a gorgeous little guy! Our Layken girl is 4.5 months old and her nursery is still not finished…eeekkkk! Luckily her big brother Gunner (age 6) adores having the bassinet in his room.
Just started my blog a few months ago and have vowed to get it going this year… for cereal!
