Doggy Decor (the real deal)
Some of you might remember me talking about doggy decor once before. That was when Frankie took a turn with interior design and gave some curtains the “jagged look.” Well this time I have some bonafide doggy decor, as in the cutest black lab statue!
This adorable little statue from Pottery Barn has been sitting over on my blog wish list for some time. It’s one of those items that I wanted, but couldn’t really justify buying. That’s where friends come in, of course. Can’t you always count on friends to give gifts of the more frivolous items you want in life?
I tried to make Frankie pose like the statue, but this was as close as I could get. This little guy does not sit still for long.
I’ve been trying the new statue out in several places around the house and I haven’t yet decided on the perfect home for him. Frankie is a little jealous about all the attention “the other dog” is getting, but he’s getting used to the idea!
So, do you like this doggy decor as much as I do? Do you wish they had a statue for your breed of dog?

Frankie is a doll! We have two blabs (family term for black Labs) and so people give us lots of Labrador household items. Many of these lack style, to put it very kindly. Good find!

i LOVE it!! omg frankie is so friggin cute!!!! i love pups as much as i love stonewall kitchen (and that’s A LOT). “my” dog (who lives with my parents in chicago) is an australian shepherd. i would love to have a pretty aussie statue. it’s really hard to find non-tacky and non-crazy-dog-lady decor in this arena. but you definitely achieved it!!

So cute! I wish it was socially acceptable to have cat decor. Cool cat decor simply doesn’t exist, and even if it did, people would still accuse me of being a crazy cat lady!

Laura,
That is such a good point! They just don’t make stylish cat decor, do they? It’s completely unfair, since you are clearly NOT a crazy cat lady!!

I’m glad I am not the only one that has dog art!! I have yet to find a cute beagle statue.. so we only have prints and paintings.

It is difficult to find pit bull stuff that isn’t “theme-y”. Makes me wish I had a love of dachshunds, you can get anything in the shape of a dachshund!

Love it! I would be all over it if I could find our dog’s breed. Can’t wait to see where you decide it’s permanent home will be!

Just discovered your blog and couldn’t agree more – love the domestic adventure!
The statue is adorable. I’m obsessed with English Bulldogs and could totally see myself buying a statue. xxSAS
