Erin,
Crazy Richard here from the School. You didn't think a great blog like this wouldn't catch the eye of corporate did you?? Well,... it didn't, but they are very busy... but it did catch my eye! Thank you for the great write up! I may have to.. with your permission, link it to the Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School Facebook page. I would love to have people read your experience and see it from the audience's perspective. Hope to see you sometime this spring. The Spring catalog has been delivered, but the wb end will be a little bit longer. Call for a catalog to be sent to you ( I know, enough advertising) (877)899- 8363.

Ohh! Looks like so much fun... The hubby and I have talked about taking a cooking class together, but never really did it. Thanks for sharing your break-making tips - I think they'll be super-helpful since my last loaf was particularly flat. I just have to remember: when it comes to yeast, sugar=good, salt=not so good.

Thanks for your comments, ladies!

Carole - just to clarify that the wine was available for purchase (though the coffee and food were included!). No one else had wine except for me and my two friends; we felt like the rebels in class. But the wine gave it such a relaxing feel!

Alicia - thanks for making me feel better about my cinnamon rolls, and you are too funny to comment on my handwriting! Please let me know if you end up going to a Stonewall class!

Nicole - Absolutely I will share the recipe when I get around to making some of these items. The Monkey Bread or Sticky Buns might be first on my list, but the recipe makes enough dough that I could try several things all at once. Choices, choices...

Erin, these were great tips. I love when people get into the chemistry of baking and what causes what. Now the million dollar question - What will you make first from the class and are you going to share the sweet dough recipe?

Ah, this looks like SO much fun. A couple things I wanted to mention, though...

--Your cinnamon rolls were adorable! I didn't think you needed to change anything in rolling them out. Ree has a lot more experience with stuff like that, so it'll take some time for all of us to catch up.

--Your handwriting is gorgeous!

--Any class where I can drink wine, please sign me up! I'm heading to their website now to see if I can arrange a weekend trip. Education is worth it, right? :)

I'm glad you had such a good time! Thank you for sharing this with us! :)

It looks like a fun class--wine AND samples! Can't beat that. I've attended both passive and interactive cooking classes and I've never been served wine. Also, I'm usually balancing a notebook on my lap (no tables/desks). I like Stonewall's set up.
