Duvet drama

One of the first things I purchased for my first apartment nearly six years ago was a duvet cover.  Something about a down comforter and a duvet cover just screamed grown-up and competent to me.  As it turns out, the duvet wasn’t always so glamorous.   Every few nights I would need to straighten out the comforter inside to prevent bunching on one side or another.

You’d think I might have learned my lesson.  But even when we upgraded to a king-sized bed in our new home and my old duvet cover made its way to the guest bed, I found myself longing for the Cassandra Paisley print duvet from Pottery Barn.  Really, can you blame me?

With even more blanket to keep track of and two of us in the bed tugging and pulling, our bunching issues became more prevalent.  I could just see Chris longing for a non-fussy, simple comforter.  After several nights of waking up cold clutching an empty quarter of the duvet, I knew I needed to find a solution.  A bit of Googling led me right back to a posting by two of my favorite bloggers, which referenced one of their favorite bloggers, who had some miracle bed solutions…including duvet clips.  Who knew?

I made my way over to Bed Bath & Beyond and picked up two trusty sets of clips to keep my comforter from creeping.  Several weeks later I am happy to report that our little investment has returned night after night of comfortable sleep and saved us from countless minutes of shifting and readjusting.  Going to bed never had less aggravation!  Even my duvet-clip-doubting husband agrees that the clips are a life-saver.

Now I can rest easy knowing that I can have my duvet cover and love it, too.
